Add a cool tagline here, to entice DM’s and players!
Title card introduction: Three to five sentences maximum, but this is your opportunity to really draw in the informational ‘wader’ who wants a surface level intro. What’s a great snapshot of your campaign? Where does it happen? What elements are involved?
Maybe a sentence to let folks know how long it should last in theory, and how many adventurers it is intended for!
Note: You can give the DM a heads up here with anything to note about the adventure (combat encounters are entirely avoidable, but thievery is punishable by death, etc.)
Introduce the story here. Use an interesting hook that sets up some sort of mystery, challenge or encounter. Say what the setting is, what the theme is and detail any important NPCs or events that the players need to know about. Try to give the players an idea of what may happen - but try not to spoil the ending! An example could be: “You arrive in a town that is having problems with ghosts. They ask you to help.” This lets players know that ghosts are involved and that it might be slight horror based - but doesn’t give away what type of ghosts, or where they came from etc.
Detail here the type of game you wish to play. A good way is to estimate roughly how much of the game will be combat, social or exploration. Also list here any potential trigger warnings or challenging subjects. Also detail here how the game will be run: is this in person or via the internet etc. Details which technologies will be used, such as roll20 or Discord etc.
Detail here everything a player will need to know to create a character.
Example things to include are:
Detail here any other rules that you will be enforcing in the session. This could be table-rules like no rolling of dice unless asked, or gameplay rules such as whether you use optional rules like flanking etc. Detail here any information extra to the stats of a character sheet you would like the players to take into account or include. Examples could be wanting players to include previous adventure stories, relationship details with other players or featured NPCs,
Introduce the intial scene and setting of the adventure. How does the one shot get started? Where do things open from? Give the GM context about how things begin.
Use note blocks like this to indicate sections the GM should read aloud.
